About the Role
Performs skilled electronics and electrical maintenance, repair, and testing on traffic signals, parking/traveler information systems, and intelligent transportation systems for the City of Burbank.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, program, repair, install, and maintain traffic signal and ITS equipment (controllers, detectors, signal heads, cameras, fiber optic cabling, and more)
- Dig/pour foundations and build/install devices and wiring for traffic operations
- Inspect contract work, prepare records and reports, and respond to emergency repairs after hours
- Follow and enforce safety procedures; may train, supervise, and evaluate other employees
Requirements
- Knowledge of traffic signal/ITS systems, the National Electrical Code, Cal/OSHA, and California MUTCD standards
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Must be able to operate a Public Works bucket truck (275 lb. weight limit applies; a weigh-in occurs during recruitment)
