About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate with experience in contract management, accounting, or a related field who enjoys collaborating in a team environment. Under general supervision, assists with a variety of routine administrative, operational, research, financial, and analytical tasks.
What You'll Do
- Conduct basic research, studies, surveys, and data gathering; prepare written reports and presentations
- Assist with implementation of policies, procedures, and practices, including routine personnel policy
- Support budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and performance measurement
- Write legislative correspondence and respond to departmental/citizen inquiries
- Assist with contract compliance monitoring
- May supervise or train employees, assist with community outreach, or serve as staff to elected officials
Requirements
- Knowledge of public administration, governmental budgeting, and fiscal management principles
- Skill in modern office software; strong writing, grammar, and communication skills
- Ability to compile and analyze financial/budgetary data and maintain confidentiality
Education/Training
A combination of education and experience providing the necessary knowledge and skills, such as a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field. A valid California Class C driver's license may be required.
