Staff Engineer Systems

About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA seeks a senior Staff Engineer in Systems Engineering. This role serves as technical lead and advisor, guiding complex requirements development, verification, and validation on defense systems programs. Active Secret clearance required. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel ~10%.

What you'll do

• Self-initiate assignments and drive technical solutions from development to mature implementation
• Identify unique customer requirements and lead Agile teams to build and test against them
• Collaborate across IPTs to verify requirements through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test
• Serve as team spokesperson on advanced technical solutions; act as advisor to management and customers
• Provide test directions for production and troubleshooting tests
• Work on complex technical problems and provide solutions to meet customer and program needs

Requirements

• Bachelor's in STEM with 12+ years; or Master's in STEM with 10+ years; or PhD in STEM with 8+ years
• Active/current U.S. Government Secret clearance
• IBM Rational DOORS experience; technical baseline management; test case development; V&V
• Demonstrated success leading test investigations and guiding technical concepts to implementation
• U.S. citizenship; on-site Woodland Hills

Preferred: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, Ethernet, Agile/JIRA, MBSE/Cameo, ClearCase

Pay & benefits

$177,000–$265,600/yr. Full-time, on-site Woodland Hills. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, education assistance, and annual bonus.
