Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (Advanced Navigation) in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a Navigation Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead (Senior Principal Engineer Systems). This role leads planning, budgeting, execution, and progress reporting for a team of navigation, software, systems, and test engineers developing M-code capable GPS/INS. Position is contingent upon active DoD Secret Clearance transfer. Full-time on-site.
What You'll Get To Do
- Lead development of new navigation functions within a DO-178C safety-critical software framework
- Oversee planning and execution of navigation algorithm and software functionality
- Work with Product Line Chief Engineer to develop navigation product roadmaps
- Ensure IPT scope is executed within cost and schedule targets
- Set up and conduct Scrum/Agile ceremonies (PI planning, sprint planning/reviews/retrospectives)
- Identify and mitigate execution risks; manage staffing across multiple scrum teams
- Present execution plan, technical approach, and progress to customers and senior leadership
- Collect, manage, and report program metrics and TPMs related to navigation performance
- Minimum 10% travel to customer, supplier, and other NG locations
Basic Qualifications
- BS + 8 years OR MS + 6 years OR PhD + 4 years in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related STEM
- Experience in navigation, avionics, guidance, or related embedded systems development
- Knowledge of EVM; experience directing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- US Citizenship; ability to obtain US Government Secret clearance
- Full-time on-site in Woodland Hills, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DO-178C safety-critical software development
- Experience with Jira; experience developing GPS/INS navigation solutions with extended Kalman filters
- Active US Government Secret clearance
Salary Range: $142,200-$213,400/year
