Section Manager IPT Lead

As Section Manager and Cost Account Manager (CAM) / Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, you will manage a staff of engineers leading the execution of a specific domain of a larger program in Woodland Hills, CA. The product is an inertial measurement and navigation system.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering design, development, test, and integration of hardware and software products/subsystems
• Track and report cost and schedule performance (CAM duties) for Systems Engineering Integration and Test
• Own overall technical quality and performance for the engineering content of assigned scope
• Ensure the engineering team adheres to sound engineering processes
• Serve as interface to Program Manager, SEIT Lead, Chief Engineer, and other IPT leads
• Lead project planning utilizing resource-loaded IMS aligned to program milestones
• Coordinate cost/schedule configuration control board (CCB) packages for baseline change approval
• Form tiger teams to address issues with disciplined root cause and corrective actions
• Manage risk, mitigations, and interface with risk boards
• Present to technical review boards

As Section Manager, also responsible for:

• Managing a team of engineers as their functional supervisor, including hiring and assignment management
• Partnering with program leadership to meet forecasted staffing needs
• Performance management for assigned staff, including setting expectations and conducting performance reviews
• Developing, mentoring, and coaching engineers for career progression
• Cultivating a culture of high-quality engineering work products

Basic Qualifications

• 8 years of Engineering experience with BS in STEM; 6 years with MS; 4 years with PhD
• Minimum 5 years' experience in systems engineering, integration, and/or test
• Minimum 2 years' experience with EVMS principles or as Cost Account Manager
• Experience leading or supervising engineering staff
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as Section Manager including hiring and performance management
• Master's degree in relevant technical or management specialty
• PMP Certification
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

Salary Range

$161,100–$241,700/year. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays and PTO.
