Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy

Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for the Respiratory Therapy department. This is a part-time position.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and Clinical Coordinator of the Respiratory Therapy department, this position is responsible for administering and charting all aspects of respiratory therapy under the direct supervision of the medical director.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management
• Perform patient assessments and document care in the medical record
• Respond to respiratory emergencies including codes
• Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and home care

Required Qualifications

• Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Ability to work variable shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential
• Experience in acute care or ICU respiratory therapy
• Neonatal/pediatric respiratory therapy experience
