About the Role
The City of Burbank is hiring Police Officer/Recruits. Recruits attend a regular basic California POST-certified law enforcement academy — covering laws, police procedures, law enforcement techniques, first aid, and physical fitness — and are sworn in as full-duty Police Officers upon graduation.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- At least 20 years old to apply; 21 by academy graduation
- Good physical condition (subject to City Medical Examiner determination)
- Valid California Class "C" driver's license or equivalent
Testing Process
Complete the department application and the FrontLine National written exam through the National Testing Network, plus the required PHQ, by the posted deadline.
Pay
Current salary $7,955.65/month ($98,332/yr equivalent shown). After academy completion: $8,332.18–$10,405.76/month ($99,986–$124,869/yr). Additional differential pay for Advanced POST certification (~$960/month) or a Master's Degree ($495/month).
