Manager Hardware Engineering

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager of Hardware Engineering to join our Engineering and Sciences (E&S) organization in Woodland Hills, CA. This leadership role combines functional engineering management with program-level technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of hardware engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Oversee hardware design, development, and integration activities for advanced navigation and avionics systems
• Partner with program leadership to align engineering resources with program demands
• Ensure engineering rigor and quality standards are maintained across all hardware work products
• Serve as technical interface to program managers, chief engineers, and customer representatives
• Support proposal and new business capture activities
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable team environment

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or STEM discipline + 8 years of engineering experience; MS + 6 years; PhD + 4 years
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
• Experience with hardware design, development, and system integration
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inertial navigation systems, GPS, or avionics hardware
• Experience with EVMS/cost account management
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

Salary Range

$121,000–$181,600/year. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays and PTO.
