About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles (KABC) is seeking experienced News Writer/Producers to join one of the nation's top local news teams on an as-needed basis. Located in Glendale, CA. Covered under the NABET-CWA ABC Master Agreement.

What You'll Do

• Write scripts and produce newscasts and news segments
• Build engaging rundowns and shape editorial content
• Edit video and booth live newscasts
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, editors, directors, and assignment desk teams
• Cover breaking news with urgency, accuracy, and creativity

Requirements

• 2+ years of television news writing and/or producing experience
• Strong broadcast writing skills and editorial judgment
• Flexibility for overnights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news
• Experience line producing live newscasts preferred
• Knowledge of Dalet, non-linear editing, Ross graphics, and touchscreen technology preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Pay & Benefits

$25.50–$38.50/hr · Part-time, as-needed
