About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking an exceptional producer and newsroom leader for a top-rated afternoon newscast. The ideal candidate is a passionate storyteller with endless curiosity, a constant stream of ideas, and an obsession with creating compelling, memorable shows.

You'll have the opportunity to produce with a brand-new, state-of-the-art studio in Glendale, CA, working alongside an award-winning team of journalists.

Responsibilities

• Manage and produce all elements of an afternoon linear newscast
• Lead the way on live breaking news and event coverage
• Actively participate in editorial planning and pitch stories daily
• Fill in producing other newscasts as needed on all platforms
• Experiment with new technology and production tools

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of local TV newscast producing experience
• Great news judgement; thrives on breaking news and deadline pressure
• Excellent writing skills under tight deadlines
• Organized, collaborative, good at managing people and resources
• Eye for impact, relevance, and moments that connect with viewers
• Proficient use of social media to gather and distribute news
• Flexible schedule availability including early mornings, nights, and holidays
• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred

• Knowledge of Dalet, Ross XPression, and desktop editing

Pay & Schedule

$24.50–$42.50/hr | On-site in Glendale, CA | Full-time
