Instructional Support Operator, Immersive Technologies (Substitute)

About the Role

Temporary substitute Instructional Support Operator supporting a Virtual Reality (VR) lab and makerspace at Glendale Community College. Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm. $26.97/hr.

What You'll Do

• Assist students using VR systems, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, simulation software, and related technologies
• Reinforce instructor terminology, concepts, and techniques; guide students through lab exercises and workshops
• Prepare and maintain lab environments: equipment setup, materials organization, after-use cleaning and storage
• Manage equipment check-in/check-out; monitor inventory; submit supply requests
• Provide technical support for LMS, student accounts, communication platforms, and office software
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; coordinate with IT for complex problems
• Track student participation and attendance; maintain FERPA-compliant records

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent
• 2+ years supporting instruction or technical environments involving VR, immersive tech, makerspace, or fabrication

Pay

$26.97/hr | Temporary, substitute — Mon–Fri, 40 hrs/week
