Instructional Support Operator – Immersive Technologies

About the Role

Glendale Community College is hiring an Instructional Support Operator to provide technical support for immersive technologies, including Dreamscape Learn, 3D printing, and related technologies.

Full-time | 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri: 9:00am–5:30pm | On-site

What You'll Do

• Support students in a VR lab/makerspace using established procedures; support workshops, demonstrations, and outreach activities
• Reinforce instruction and guide students in VR systems, simulation software, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and fabrication equipment
• Schedule lab and equipment usage; manage check-in/check-out of equipment and supplies
• Prepare and maintain lab environments; monitor inventory; coordinate with Facilities on installation and maintenance needs
• Provide technical support for LMS, student accounts, and standard business software; coordinate with IT on repairs and updates
• Track student participation and attendance; maintain FERPA-compliant records

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
• 2 years of experience supporting instruction or technical environments involving VR, immersive tech, makerspace, or fabrication

Pay & Benefits

$5,289–$5,832/month starting (Step 1–3); up to $6,750/month (Step 6)
