About the Role
NBCUniversal is seeking a Facility Technician to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building envelopes, systems, equipment, grounds, and infrastructure. You will troubleshoot technical issues, conduct preventative maintenance, respond to service calls, and collaborate with contractors to keep facilities safe, efficient, and compliant.
What You'll Do
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including critical infrastructure
- Monitor BAS (building automation systems) to optimize energy use and systems performance
- Resolve building system failures to minimize disruptions
- Complete preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance work orders via CMMS and mobile platform
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, equipment performance, and repair history in CMMS
- Coordinate with Asset Management to ensure accurate asset tagging and data in the Master Asset List
- Develop and implement SOPs and KPIs with Facility Operations and Asset Management
- Oversee vendor and 3rd party contracted services; schedule and coordinate service calls
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives; attend drills and exercises
- Attend bid walks and assist with project oversight as needed
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years in building engineering, facilities management, or a related field
- Understanding of Class A commercial building operations
- Demonstrated proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and BAS systems
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency practices
- Valid Class C Driver's License
What Would Make You Stand Out
- Associate's degree or technical certification in building systems
- EPA Universal Certification for refrigerants
- Relevant trade license (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, low voltage)
- Understanding of Class A high-rise operations and REG 4
Schedule & Pay
On-site, full-time. Flexible hours required; travel as needed. Salary range: $46–$48/hr. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, and tuition reimbursement.
