About the Role

Glendale Community College is seeking an Entertainment Technology (ENTECH) Program Professional Expert -- a project-based subject-matter expert to support the planning, development, and launch of GCC's new Entertainment Technology program.

The ENTECH program prepares students for careers in live performance, event production, and large-scale entertainment settings (concerts, theatrical productions, festivals, theme parks, televised live events).

Pay: $48/hr | Type: Temporary (project-based, as-needed assignments)

Scope of Work

Program and Curriculum Development

• Consult on ENTECH curriculum design aligned with live sound, lighting, staging, rigging, video, and event production practices
• Advise on certificates, degrees, and short-term workforce credentials
• Ensure curriculum integrates industry safety standards (OSHA and entertainment industry protocols)

Equipment and Facilities Planning

• Recommend industry-standard equipment lists (sound, lighting, staging, rigging, power, video systems)
• Advise on instructional space and lab requirements

Industry and Labor Alignment

• Serve as liaison with entertainment labor organizations including IATSE
• Advise on union entry-level competencies and workforce entry pathways
• Help develop internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeship-aligned experiences

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in entertainment technology, live performance, or event production
• Expert-level knowledge in one or more disciplines (live sound, lighting, rigging, staging, video, event operations)
• Knowledge of OSHA and entertainment industry safety standards
• Experience collaborating with IATSE or similar labor organizations is highly desirable
