Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a Senior EMI/EMC Test Engineer (Level 4) to lead complex EMI/EMC test campaigns, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with design and systems engineering. 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off). Full-time on-site.
What You'll Get To Do
- Lead planning, setup, and execution of EMI/EMC testing for complex electronic systems per MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and DO-160
- Define test strategies, select test methods (CE/RE/CS/RS), and oversee execution in EMI chambers and bench test environments
- Operate and guide others in use of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF preamplifiers, LISNs, transient generators, and antennas
- Lead data analysis, identify non-compliances, and drive root-cause analysis with design teams
- Recommend and validate design and mitigation changes (filters, shielding, grounding, cable routing)
- Develop, review, and approve EMI/EMC test procedures, configurations, and formal test reports
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
- Communicate test status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related STEM + 9 years of relevant experience; OR MS + 7 years
- Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher)
- Significant hands-on experience planning and executing EMI/EMC testing
- Strong working knowledge of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and/or DO-160
- Demonstrated expertise with EMI test equipment and troubleshooting
- US Citizenship required; full-time on-site in Woodland Hills, CA
Preferred
- MS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Defense or aerospace EMI/EMC testing experience
- Experience with LabVIEW or Python for test automation
Salary Range: $142,200-$213,400/year
