Associate Product Design Manager

About the role

Associate Product Design Manager – Softlines Men's & Boy's Apparel. We are seeking an Associate Product Designer with an apparel/graphic design background, responsible for a specific range of products of a single category under general supervision. Builds strong peer/team relationships to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines that build brand equity and meet financial targets. Reports directly to the Manager, Product Design and sits onsite in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL.

What you'll do

• Concept, design, sketch, prototype (fit sessions, production art), deliver and present trend-right consumer centric product lines featuring market-leading innovation and price/value.
• Develop and design product mock-ups, compile line sheets for line reviews, layout creative presentations, and retail pitch decks.
• Collaborate with internal partners (Creative Design, Brand Merchandising, Sourcing and Tech Design, Legal, Business Affairs, Product Integrity, Integrated Retail) and external partners (Studios & Disney Channel Content Providers, Games, Publishing, WDI, DTR Partners) to design and approve all products.
• Monitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamics.
• Research initial seasonal trends by category.
• Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within deadline.

Requirements

• 2-3+ years of related experience.
• Solid knowledge in softlines categories (raw materials, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing).
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiating skills.
• Strong product design skills (technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification).
• Strong computer software skills (MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (fashion design, graphic design, textile design) or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Background in Graphic Design, Textile Design, or Typography.

Pay & benefits

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $95,500–$128,000 per year. Base pay may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
