About the role
The Assistant Manager, Audio/Video Technical is responsible for leading the onsite design implementation, installation, operation and maintenance of audio/video systems of assigned Entertainment projects of various scale, including marquee events, park theatrical entertainment, press events, and special projects. This position oversees day-to-day project execution, technical quality, inventory management, and logistics while partnering with Project Management, Tech Management, Audio/Video Creative, Entertainment Creative Development, Technical Services, and various vendors.
What you'll do
- Coordinate with the AV Creative team, vendors, and other partners to ensure successful implementation, maintenance, and operation of AV designs and equipment
- Represent the AV Tech team during project meetings, providing updates and facilitating information exchange between all stakeholders
- Present needs and solutions for design changes and challenges to maintain the creative vision and design intent
- Review and coordinate the development of Audio/Video system documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
- Coordinate development and implementation of Audio/Video system designs based on project requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for activities, installations, commissioning, and project deliverables
- Maintain documents and system files to ensure proper archiving of all AV systems
- Input, maintain, and track inventory of all Entertainment Technical AV equipment
- Submit and track logistic requests for AV equipment as required
- Monitor technical performance of Entertainment Audio/Video systems via show reports and maintenance documentation
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle planning for AV equipment
- Provide day-to-day leadership and work direction to Entertainment Technical Services Audio/Video personnel
- Coordinate staffing requirements and support schedules with Entertainment Operations
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in theatrical or entertainment audio/video design, implementation, or production
- Extensive theme park experience in technical audio/video production for live theatrical entertainment
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, coordinating vendors, and managing multiple concurrent projects
- Strong working knowledge of Q-SYS, QLab, Reaper, Mainstage, Pro Tools, Dante, and IT Networking protocols
- Strong working knowledge of hardware including Yamaha, Allen & Heath, and QSC digital audio consoles, Alcorn McBride, Geffen, Blackmagic, Brightsign, and Gilderfluke
- Expert ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required
Pay & benefits
Salary range: $70,000–$80,000/yr. Eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and tuition reimbursement.
