About the role
Operate various types of solid waste collection trucks and perform heavy manual labor collecting, trucking, and disposing of refuse and recyclable materials for the City of Burbank.
What you'll do
- Operate front loader, side loader, rear loader, bin handling unit, forklift, and automated collection trucks on an assigned route
- Pick up and load refuse and recyclable materials; operate loading, compressing, and dumping mechanisms
- Ensure the truck is properly fueled, equipped, lubricated, and serviced; report needed repairs
- Answer citizen complaints and business inquiries about service
- Maintain required written records; may supervise solid waste field crews
Requirements
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safe equipment operation
- Physical stamina for heavy manual work
- Valid California Class "B" driver's license without air brake restriction at time of appointment
Schedule / process
