Project-based subject-matter expert assignment at Glendale Community College to support the planning, design, and implementation of the AAPI Studies program. Temporary, as-needed professional expert role.

Part-time | Project-based | $48/hr

Scope of Work

Program & Curriculum Development

• Design and develop curriculum, certificates, degrees, and courses meeting Area 6 Ethnic Studies requirements and CSU transfer standards
• Center AAPI perspectives across East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, and Pacific Islander experiences
• Incorporate critical examination of immigration policies, anti-Asian racism, intersectionality, and social movements
• Recommend course sequencing and program structure

Cultural Responsiveness & Community Collaboration

• Advise on culturally appropriate content and pedagogical strategies
• Facilitate partnerships with local AAPI community organizations, cultural centers, and advocacy groups
• Support development of guest speaker programs, cultural events, and service-learning opportunities

Program Implementation

• Assist in defining student learning outcomes and culturally responsive assessment practices
• Prepare written recommendations and reports
• Support ongoing evaluation for program relevance and cultural authenticity

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Asian American Studies, Pacific Islander Studies, or closely related field (preferred)
• Knowledge of California Area 6 Ethnic Studies requirements and CSU transfer standards
• Deep understanding of AAPI communities' historical and contemporary experiences
• Experience with culturally responsive pedagogy and critical race theory
• Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, students, and community stakeholders

Pay

$48/hr
