About the Role

Walt Disney Imagineering's Show Systems team delivers Audio-Animatronic figures, show action equipment, and special effects for theme park attractions. This Show Mechanical Engineering internship runs approximately January 2027 – June 2027 in Glendale, CA, spanning concept development through production, test, and commissioning.

What You'll Do

• Design mechanical components under direction; create models and drawings in SolidWorks
• Perform calculations for machine designs (loads, stress analysis, motor/component sizing)
• Support production, test, and commissioning of animated figures and show action equipment
• Generate drawings and engineering reports

Requirements

• Ability to perform basic engineering analysis and calculations
• Basic knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling tools
• Available to work shifts per global project needs (typically 8am–5pm)
• Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher in an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics program
• At least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization

Preferred

• Strong leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills; self-starter
• Familiarity with FEA (ANSYS preferred) and mechanical system modeling (MATLAB/Simulink)

Pay & Benefits

• $31/hr
