About the Role
Walt Disney Imagineering is looking for a Mechanical Design & Production Intern to support mechanical design and hands-on production for special effects, animatronics, and show action equipment. This internship runs approximately January 2027 – June 2027 in Glendale, CA.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to mechanical design, design reviews, and drawing/documentation (SolidWorks or similar CAD)
- Assist with mechanical fabrication and assembly under supervision
- Support mock-ups, integrations, and troubleshooting; work with QC and Engineering to resolve issues
Requirements
- Familiarity with machining, welding, and mechanical assembly
- Hands-on experience through industry, school, or club projects
- Proficient with basic fabrication tools and measurement instruments; able to read technical drawings
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, earning a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related
- At least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization
Preferred
- Experience with Airtable
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing
Schedule & Logistics
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
- Must provide own housing and reliable transportation
Pay & Benefits
- $26.50/hr (undergraduate) or $27.50/hr (graduate)
- Select benefits may be provided depending on level and position
