WDI Ride Control Engineering Intern, Glendale, Spring 2027

About the Role

Ride Control Engineers at Walt Disney Imagineering build the advanced control systems behind Disney's theme park attractions worldwide. This internship runs approximately January 2027 – June 2027 in Glendale, CA, within the Ride Engineering Studio.

What You'll Do

• Join an engineering team on ride control system development, prototyping, simulation, or testing for a specific attraction or project
• Design, model, and/or analyze electrical, electronic, and data communication systems
• Work on a project team partnered with a mentor

Requirements

• Ability to understand and implement basic control system design
• Experience with programmable controllers used in machine control and robotic applications
• Ability to conduct electrical/electronic design and calculations, and prepare technical documents and CAD drawings
• Valid US driver's license
• Currently enrolled as a Junior earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related
• At least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization

Preferred

• Leadership experience in an engineering organization or club (IEEE, SWE, ACM, etc.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Matlab
• Control Systems Engineering / Control Theory coursework or experience

Schedule & Logistics

• Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
• Must provide own housing and reliable transportation in Glendale, CA

Pay & Benefits

• $31/hr (undergraduate) or $36/hr (graduate)
