About the Role
NBCUniversal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead development of systems using frontier AI capabilities. This forward-deployed team proves the business value of AI foundation models within TV, film, theme parks, and other business groups.
What You'll Do
- Research and test new AI technologies, translating capability into measurable business ROI
- Build backends and data layers using API standards and NBCU gateways
- Deploy and maintain databases across SQL and NoSQL environments
- Design features spanning application UI down to underlying APIs
- Develop automated tests and deploy to cloud-based platforms
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend or full-stack development experience
- Experience with Python, AWS, database systems, and SQL
- Understanding of ML practices for foundation model integration (RAG, fine-tuning)
- Practical experience integrating and consuming APIs

$130,000–$170,000/yr
