Sr. Technical Project Manager, Imagineering R&D

About the Role

Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development uses technology to build new experiences for Guests and develop innovative tools for Imagineers. The Senior R&D Technical Project Manager will bring together engineers, designers, artists, and scientists to build ground-breaking prototypes, reporting to the Director of Technical Project Management.

What You'll Do

• Partner with project leads to break down vision into scopes, deliverables, tasks, schedules, and budgets
• Develop and refine plans for proof-of-concept mockups, balancing time, budget, and scope
• Project manage multiple projects simultaneously, owning schedules, task lists, and budgets across resources and vendors
• Plan and execute playtests and events, incorporating feedback into future iterations
• Assess technical risks and feasibility, escalating to leadership as needed
• Build and manage matrixed teams across creative and technical disciplines, internal studios, and partners
• Source and manage vendor relationships including contracting and invoicing

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in robotics, aerospace, AI, or embedded systems industries
• 3+ years of project management experience on complex technical projects with multiple teams
• Strong technical background with ability to quickly assess new technologies

Pay & Schedule

$141,900–$190,300/year. Full-time, on-site.
