Sr Area Manager Retail Warehouse

About the Role

The Senior Area Manager, Retail Warehouse oversees operations of our retail distribution warehouse, including offsite locations. This role leads teams, optimizes inventory management, ensures timely delivery of products to retail locations, and maintains the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics in a fast-paced retail environment are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure stock accuracy, minimize loss, and prevent stockouts
• Optimize warehouse space across all locations, ensuring efficient storage, layout, and organization
• Implement systems for cycle counts, reconciliation, and audits at each warehouse site; oversee accurate record-keeping and inventory data reporting
• Oversee budget preparation and management, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining operational efficiency
• Manage performance of warehouse staff through training, coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback
• Take an active part in recruitment, retention, and succession planning; administer performance evaluations and address disciplinary issues
• Develop effective staffing schedules to meet business demands while controlling labor costs
• Lead management and team meetings to promote a collaborative work environment
• Collaborate with retail management, Universal Orlando Partners, and external partners to align warehouse operations with overall business objectives
• Oversee safe handling, storage, and transportation of goods ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
• Promote a strong safety culture through safety training, audits, and partnership with Environmental Health and Safety
• Implement loss prevention measures to maintain inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage
• Review and analyze warehouse performance daily; communicate regularly with Senior Management

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in warehouse and distribution management
• Experience managing large-scale warehouse operations, preferably in food and/or retail distribution
• Effective communicator with the ability to liaise with vendors, employees, and management at all levels
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance regulations
• Flexibility to work rotating schedules, including holidays, weekends, and nights
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, warehouse management systems, and other relevant software

Preferred

• College degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (not required)
• Ability to manage offsite locations and large teams in a 24/7 environment

Salary range: $100,000–$120,000 (bonus eligible)
