RECREATION COORDINATOR

About the Role

Open competitive recruitment for the City of Burbank. Coordinates, organizes, and conducts recreational, cultural, and community service programs — day camps, aquatics, youth and senior programs, sports, teens, classes, cultural arts, special events, childcare, and nature programs.

What You'll Do

• Plan, publicize, and coordinate recreation classes and community events
• Assist with facility maintenance, programming, and monitoring facility use
• Ensure safety precautions for participants and spectators
• Interview, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff
• Coordinate registration, fee collection, and record keeping
• Act as liaison with the school district and other agencies
• Administer operational and program budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Social Science, Public Administration, Leisure Studies, or related field, plus 2 years of paid leadership experience (additional experience may substitute for education)
• Valid California Class C driver's license
• Valid CPR, Communicable Disease, and First Aid certificates
