Senior Civil Engineer - Water Engineering (Glendale Water & Power)

About the Role

A management position performing complex professional field and office civil engineering work related to the planning, design, maintenance, and operation of water infrastructure systems for Glendale Water & Power's Water Engineering Division.

What You'll Do

• Manage major projects involving supervision and preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, and reports for water infrastructure (pipelines, pump stations, tanks, reservoirs, treatment facilities)
• Review and supervise preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for private development
• Solicit, review, and track bids, proposals, contracts, and agreements for compliance
• Coordinate with and provide technical guidance to engineers, inspectors, consultants, and contractors
• Perform complex professional civil engineering calculations and design work
• Supervise employees of a lower classification

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Six years progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity in Water Engineering
• Valid Class C California driver's license; registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board
