About the Role
The City of Glendale Police Department is hiring a Senior Helicopter Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain its helicopter fleet — engines, rotor systems, transmissions, fuel controls, and police equipment. Open & promotional examination, six-month probationary period. Reports to a Police Sergeant.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, resolve, and oversee complex helicopter repairs and mechanical issues
- Perform major and minor maintenance on MD500 Series helicopters
- Work primarily outdoors in varied field and weather conditions, Monday–Friday
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years' helicopter maintenance experience, including 3 years on MD500 Series helicopters
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required
- Eligibility for FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) within the probationary period
