About the Role
Glendale Water & Power's Water Engineering Division is hiring a Civil Engineer I under an open & promotional examination (six-month probationary period). Performs complex professional engineering design work and supervises a water service planning/design group.
What You'll Do
- Manage major projects: designs, specifications, plans, estimates, and reports for water utility construction/operations
- Review and supervise checking of plans and computations for water service planning and capital improvement projects
- Confer with departments, consultants, contractors, and the public on GWP standards
- Prepare project feasibility studies and technical research reports
- Supervise employees in assigned engineering tasks
Requirements
- Two years' professional Civil Engineering experience, including one year in water engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
- Valid Class C California driver's license
