About the Role
A temporary, unclassified, part-time hourly position performing basic medical care and transportation of ill or injured patients as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for the City of Glendale, assisting with department support functions.
What You'll Do
- Provide emergency medical care within the scope of an EMT-1 certification
- Assist Firefighter/Paramedics in providing emergency medical and health care
- Operate an emergency medical ambulance safely to and from emergency scenes; transport patients to hospitals
- Monitor and operate radio and communication equipment
- Participate in daily fire station functions, training sessions, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license with acceptable driving history
- Valid California EMT Certification, Motor Vehicle Ambulance Certification Endorsement, and BLS CPR card
- 911 EMT experience highly desirable
