Patient Care Technician - Dialysis (CCHT)

About the Role

CCHT required. Functions as part of the dialysis health care team providing safe, effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, in compliance with organization, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.

What You'll Do

• Welcome patients, evaluate vascular access, and perform cannulation and heparin administration as delegated
• Initiate and monitor dialysis treatment per prescribed orders (blood flow, dialysate flow)
• Evaluate intradialytic problems and intervene as directed by physician order
• Obtain and document vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters throughout treatment
• Discontinue treatment per procedure, obtain hemostasis, and apply appropriate dressings
• Perform machine safety checks and report unusual findings to the RN or supervisor
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under nurse supervision

Schedule

TTS shift, 5/6am to 6/7pm.
