Patient Care Technician (PCT)

About the Role

Functions as part of the dialysis health care team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, including setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts; willing to train.

What You'll Do

• Welcome assigned patients and evaluate vascular access; perform cannulation and heparin administration as delegated
• Obtain pre/post-treatment vital signs and weight; initiate and discontinue dialysis treatment per prescribed orders
• Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and evaluate intradialytic problems
• Perform machine safety checks and report unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor
• Document treatment parameters and patient information accurately

Requirements

• Willing to train; PCT certification obtained per state requirements
• Comfortable in a clinical, patient-care environment
