About the Role
The Manager, Technical Services (Rides & Attractions) is responsible for maintaining strategic and daily operational plans for Rides & Attractions within the Technical Services Department. The Manager provides technical guidance for all attractions under their area of responsibility, including Audio, Special Effects, Projection, Lighting, Set/Scenic, Props, Show Action Equipment, Animated Figures, Ride Mechanical Systems, Ride Control, and Show Control Systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure department understands and follows all company policies and procedures
- Coordinate and assign technicians to set up, install, repair, and maintain all equipment and venue operations
- Maintain a documentation system for all attractions; ensure daily reports are completed for all activities
- Ensure all Ride & Attraction equipment maintains the highest level of safety in accordance with USH Policies, accepted manufacturing practices, and local standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Ride & Attraction Technicians in day-to-day installation, test, and maintenance activities
- Oversee all technical interaction with Attraction Responsible Engineers, Vendors, Sub-contractors, and other 3rd-party parties involved with Show and Ride systems
- Enforce Ride & Attraction technical principles to provide a quality product; advise the Rides & Attractions Assistant Managers and Rides Senior Director
- Advise, coordinate, and report to the Senior Manager and Senior Director of Rides & Attractions and Senior Director of Engineering on engineering quality and areas of risk
- Ensure collective bargaining agreements are upheld by partnering with HR and Labor Relations
- Develop and implement action plans for the department's future success including training programs, workforce planning, and rewards and recognition
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of day-to-day operation of a theme park, theatre, or related business
- 3–5 years of operations management/team leadership experience
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred
- Theme Park Operations knowledge and experience
- Experience managing in a union environment
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and time management skills

Salary range: $90,000–$120,000 (plus bonus)
