About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles is hiring a Video Editor for its Glendale newsroom. The role requires schedule flexibility (early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays) and combines strong storytelling with technical coordination — managing satellite/microwave signals, live shots from field crews, and transmission troubleshooting.

What You'll Do

• Edit and assemble raw footage into finished news segments
• Partner with executive producers, show producers, and reporters on compelling news segments and special projects
• Manage and organize video files and assets in the digital asset management system
• Troubleshoot video editing and equipment issues
• Ensure quality control to station standards and deadlines
• Operate microwave and satellite signals, IFB, frame synchronizers, Dejero, and LiveU

Requirements

• 3+ years professional video editing experience (news environment preferred)
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong understanding of video formats and codecs
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple simultaneous projects
• Experience with color correction, audio mixing, and motion graphics
• High school diploma required

Preferred

• Dalet Galaxy experience
• Adobe Premiere proficiency for vertical (9:16) mobile video

Pay & Benefits

$65,300–$87,500/yr in Glendale, CA. Bonus and/or long-term incentive units possible, plus full medical, financial, and other benefits.
