About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking experienced television Newswriters for freelance employment. The ideal candidate can write scripts, edit video, and produce newscasts when necessary. This role is on-site.

What You'll Do

• Write and produce for newscasts as assigned
• Edit video and book newscasts
• Work with reporters, editors, and directors to shape stories and newscasts

Requirements

• Minimum of two years broadcast news experience
• Ability to work quickly under continuous deadlines
• Scheduling flexibility, including weekends, overnights, and holidays
• Bachelor's degree

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Dalet, line producing, non-linear editing, Ross Expression, and touch-screen technology.

Pay

Daily payment in lieu of benefits, with potential for additional compensation for overtime, producing, and off-hour shifts, per the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
