DA/RDA (Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant)

About the Role

The Dental Assistant (DA) assists the dentist in the direct provision of primary care dental services, along with sterilization and inventory management. The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) performs expanded clinical duties including patient prep, radiography, and restorative procedures.

What You'll Do

DA:

• Chairside assistance and operatory prep
• Radiograph exposure/development
• Infection control and equipment maintenance
• Patient flow coordination and instrument sterilization
• Telephone management

RDA (in addition to DA duties):

• Oral cavity inspections, bleaching, caries detection, CAD imaging
• Pulp testing; placement of bases/liners/bonding agents
• Provisional restorations, periodontal dressings, endodontic support
• Denture adjustment and sealant application (with certification)

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Board-approved courses in infection control, dental practice act, radiation safety, coronal polishing
• Current BLS certification
• One year dental experience preferred
• RDA certification required for the RDA position
• Bilingual Spanish/English or Armenian/English preferred

Pay & Benefits

• DA: $22/hour; RDA: $23–$25/hour (experience-dependent)
