Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is a 900+ person nonprofit serving close to 50,000 parents, children, and child care providers each month in Northern Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County through child development, early education, workforce development, and child care financial assistance.

About the Role

The Controller is the senior accounting leader responsible for the integrity, compliance, modernization, and performance of CCRC's financial operations. Reporting to the VP & CFO, this role leads all accounting functions — financial close, reporting, general ledger, AP/AR, grant and contract accounting, procurement, audits, and regulatory compliance. As a strategic partner to executive leadership, the Controller strengthens internal controls, drives process and system improvements, and provides financial insights that support organizational growth and mission impact.

What You'll Do

• Lead financial close, general ledger, AP/AR, grant accounting, and regulatory compliance
• Produce accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial information and reporting packages for CFO and Executive Committee
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process and system improvements
• Develop and lead high-performing accounting and finance teams
• Serve as CFO's designee when requested

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
• Active CPA license required
• 4+ years of Controller-level experience with proven success supervising and developing staff
• 10 years of leadership experience overseeing large teams and financial systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mission-driven finance environments, grant/fund accounting, and OMB Circulars
• Working knowledge of Adaptive Insights and Workday Finance

Schedule & Pay

Full-time, M–F regular business hours. Fully on-site. 5% travel required. Salary range: $220,000–$250,000/yr.
