About the role
CSUN's Department of Accounting seeks a tenure-track faculty member to teach taxation and related subjects within the Nazarian College of Business and Economics, with emphasis on research and scholarship in taxation fields.
What you'll do
- Provide primary instruction in taxation and related fields
- Maintain ongoing scholarship meeting AACSB accreditation standards
- Conduct weekly office hours and faculty meetings; participate in student learning assessment
- Mentor a diverse student population and provide departmental, college, and university service
Requirements
- Ph.D./DBA in Accounting or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution, OR S.J.D. in Taxation from an ABA-accredited law school, OR J.D. plus LLM in Taxation (or Master's in Taxation/Accounting plus CPA or significant accounting experience)
- Evidence of university-level teaching potential and peer-reviewed academic publication
- Preferred: professional taxation experience, CPA/attorney license/Enrolled Agent credential, culturally responsive teaching methodology
Pay & benefits
$130,000-$158,000/year. Effective date: August 19, 2027 (subject to budget approval). Screening begins September 18, 2026.
