About the Role

Surgical Technologist II – Full-Time Evening at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center OR. 40 hours/week, Evening shift.

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, assists the physician during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, within the legal scope of competency and established standards of care.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership:

• Upholds KP policies, procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws
• Utilizes effective communication strategies; participates in problem identification and resolution
• Prioritizes work to ensure completion of patient care activities

Nursing Process / Clinical:

• Correctly identifies patient and scheduled procedure
• Performs patient care activities within the scope of competency, considering age-related needs
• Applies standard precautions; maintains a safe environment
• Reports sudden changes or unusual findings to the Registered Nurse

Perioperative / Scrub Skills:

• Demonstrates technical competencies in surgical scrub duties
• Prepares and organizes the sterile field for surgical procedures
• Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures
• Maintains sterility of the operative field
