Surgical Technician II — On Call, Evening

Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City, CA is seeking a Surgical Technician II for an on-call, evening shift position.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician and in accordance with the legal scope of competency, this role assists the physician during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
• Maintain sterile technique throughout operative procedures
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse
• Prepare the OR suite before procedures and assist with teardown and cleanup
• Decontaminate and process surgical instruments per protocol
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification preferred
• BLS certification
• Ability to work on-call, evening shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of surgical technician experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties
