Surgical Technician II - OR, On-Call

About the Role

Surgical Technician II, on-call, day shift, at Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center OR. Under direct supervision of an RN or physician, assists during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties.

What You'll Do

• Correctly identify patient and scheduled procedure; perform patient care activities within scope of competency
• Assemble, sterilize, and maintain equipment/supplies/instruments; set up and organize the OR
• Perform scrub role — anticipate surgeon's needs, pass instruments, cut sutures, hold retractors, process tissue samples
• Assist with patient transfer, transport, and stabilization within scope of competency
• Apply standard precautions and report unusual findings to the RN
• Participate in departmental performance-improvement activities

Qualifications

Current Certified Surgical Technician credential and relevant clinical certifications per Kaiser Permanente policy.
