About the role

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets, found in engines, landing gear, satellites, medical implants, and unmanned aerial systems. Every 1.2 seconds, product built at the Burbank facility is stopping aircraft, delivering passengers and military personnel safely. Home to the Landing & Cabin Systems team.

The Senior Buyer is a subject matter expert in materials planning and procurement, managing purchasing of components from suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts for production needs.

What you'll do

• Perform material requirements planning in close coordination with manufacturing and external suppliers
• Communicate priorities and schedule changes to Outside Processing Suppliers daily
• Establish strong supplier relationships; escalate common issues to leadership
• Develop inventory action plans and implement pull-based replenishment (Kanban) systems
• Monitor supplier orders, drive improvements in fill rates/quality/lead times
• Negotiate blanket purchase orders and pursue cost reduction initiatives
• Manage supplier quality through the Non-Conforming Report (NCR) process

Requirements

5+ years buying experience in a similar industry or equivalent knowledge through work/school; in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Pay & benefits

$99,728-$122,453/year. Full-time, on-site in Burbank.
