About the role
Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets, found in engines, landing gear, satellites, medical implants, and unmanned aerial systems. Every 1.2 seconds, product built at the Burbank facility is stopping aircraft, delivering passengers and military personnel safely.
The Buyer I is responsible for managing purchasing of components from suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts for production needs.
What you'll do
- Perform material requirements planning through coordination with manufacturing and external suppliers
- Communicate priorities and schedule changes to Outside Processing Suppliers daily
- Establish positive supplier relationships; develop and drive inventory action plans
- Train value-stream support personnel on pull-based replenishment (Kanban) systems
- Monitor supplier orders, improve fill rates/quality/lead times
- Negotiate blanket purchase orders and pursue cost-reduction initiatives
- Manage supplier quality through the Non-Conforming Report (NCR) process
Requirements
0-2 years buying experience in a similar industry or equivalent knowledge through work/school; working knowledge of manufacturing processes and MRP systems.
Pay & benefits
$32.19/hr. Full-time, on-site in Burbank.
