Senior Manager, External Affairs — Universal Studios Hollywood

About the role

The Senior Manager, External Affairs shapes and executes strategies to strengthen Universal Studios Hollywood's operations and reputation in California. This role is the Theme Park's primary on-the-ground external affairs leader, engaging local and state elected officials, government agencies, and industry associations.

What you'll do

• Research, track, and brief stakeholders on local ordinances and state legislation impacting tourism, transportation, and park operations
• Partner with business units on local issues and response efforts for Universal Studios Hollywood
• Manage business and industry association relationships throughout Los Angeles and California, including board membership and sponsorship
• Position USH as a business leader and partner in the regional community
• Engage regulatory agencies at local and state levels to ensure operational efficiencies and compliance
• Collaborate with Universal Destinations and Experiences, Comcast, and NBCUniversal Corporate Communications and Global Real Estate teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Relations, Communications, or Business
• Experience in government affairs, external affairs, or public policy
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with elected officials and government agencies
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Pay & benefits

$110,000–$140,000/year. Full NBCUniversal benefits package.
