Recipe Tester (Part-Time, Project)

About the Role

Disney Parks is seeking a project-specific recipe tester for the next Official Disney Parks Cookbook. This part-time role reports to the Sr. Editor, Disney Publishing, and coordinates with Disney Parks Food & Beverage PR, Disney Chefs at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, and representatives from other Disney locations worldwide. Based in Glendale, CA.

What You'll Do

• Test each recipe draft in a home, non-commercial kitchen (50 recipes: 42 U.S. resorts, 8 international resorts, all scaled down from restaurant portions)
• Convert 8 international recipes from metric to imperial measurements and test both versions
• Purchase ingredients through the Disney Publishing-approved process; identify practical substitutions when needed
• Clarify questions directly with the originating Disney Chef
• Attend a 10-day Walt Disney World Resort photo shoot (5 recipes/day): prepare dish components, bring them with a reference photo, and guide the food stylist on accurate assembly
• Provide final recipe text to Sr. Editor for manuscript development; review manuscript and flag final notes before sign-off

Requirements

• Proficiency with recipe testing for professionally published cookbooks
• Proficiency in editing within Microsoft Word
• Conflict resolution skills and ability to make decisions quickly
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to fluctuating cookbook production needs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Availability to begin testing as soon as possible; full 10-day availability for early 2027 photo shoot

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in culinary food services
• Knowledge of Disney Parks Food & Beverage products and services

Pay & Benefits

$59,600–$79,800/yr (Glendale, CA). Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided. Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits dependent on level and position.
