Principal / Sr. Principal Signal / Image Processing Engineer

About the role

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Signal/Image Processing Engineer with an active Top Secret clearance to support sensor exploitation in the Artificial Intelligence and Analytics department. Onsite, 9/80 schedule.

What you'll do

• Develop and prototype new signal and image processing algorithms
• Apply classical signal processing and AI/ML algorithms to large datasets for pattern recognition, target detection, and false alarm mitigation
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure implemented algorithms are correct, robust, and maintainable
• Design test suites and present work to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Principal: BS in STEM + 5 years experience (or MS + 3, PhD + 1); active TS clearance enrolled in Continuous Evaluation; MATLAB and/or Python; onsite in Woodland Hills.

Sr. Principal: BS in STEM + 8 years (or MS + 6, PhD + 4); same clearance and location requirements.

Preferred: AI/ML techniques, C/C++, novel mathematical/statistical modeling experience.

$125,300–$187,900/yr (Principal) · $156,400–$234,600/yr (Sr. Principal)
