Principal Neighborhood Services Supervisor

About the Role

City of Glendale upper-management position (Open Examination). Under the general direction of the Director of Community Development, supervises the operations of the Neighborhood Services Section — housing code enforcement, neighborhood improvement, licensing, and community beautification and revitalization programs.

What You'll Do

• Supervise the City's code enforcement, neighborhood revitalization, environmental services, licensing, and community outreach programs
• Plan, organize, and direct Neighborhood Services programs; prepare statistical reports and manage the operational budget
• Train, supervise, and evaluate employees' job performance
• Oversee all field operations including complaint-driven code enforcement inspection programs
• Develop and oversee training and certification programs for code compliance staff
• Oversee the Section's IT systems and Request for Service system
• Investigate and mediate complex code enforcement issues and complaints
• Represent the Department at official meetings, commissions, and legal proceedings

Requirements

• 6 years of experience in municipal code enforcement administration (including public education, neighborhood revitalization, or community outreach): Required
• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning, or related field: Required
• Valid California Class C driver's license
