About the Role

The Glendale Police Department Reserve Program invites community members to serve as volunteer Reserve Police Officers. Reserve Officers wear the same uniform and perform the same duties as regular Police Officers, but on a part-time volunteer basis.

Volunteer position -- compensation at $36.90/hr for court appearances and approved assignments only.

Time commitment: Minimum 32 hours/month during field training (first year), then 16 hours/month thereafter.

Selection Process

  1. Written Exam: Law Enforcement Frontline National via NationalTestingNetwork.com -- deadline October 20, 2026
  2. Physical Agility Test: October 10, 2026
  3. Preliminary Background Questionnaire
  4. Oral Interview (100% weight; minimum 70% passing score)
  5. Background Investigation (polygraph + Livescan fingerprinting)

Veteran's Credit: Attach DD-214 to application.

Medical/Psychological

All finalists must pass a pre-placement medical exam and psychological evaluation.
