Police Officer Recruit (Bilingual English/Armenian)

About the Role

Glendale Police Department is hiring Police Officer Recruits (English/Armenian bilingual) — earn up to $157,000/year including incentive pays (detective pay, longevity pay, POST certificate pay). GPD is a full-service agency with career paths from helicopter pilot to K9 handler.

This entry-level, non-sworn classification participates in pre-academy training and the actual police-training academy.

What You'll Do

• Respond to calls for service: accidents, emergencies, crimes, threats, altercations, requests for aid
• Practice Community-Based Policing focused on collaborative problem solving
• Administer first aid; interview and record statements from witnesses, suspects, and victims
• Apprehend suspects, enforce traffic laws, investigate accidents and juvenile matters
• Serve subpoenas and warrants, testify in court, work with the City/District Attorney's Office

Requirements

• No prior experience required
• High school graduation, GED, CHSPE, HiSET, or CPP certificate
• Valid Class C California driver's license
• Bilingual English/Armenian required for this recruitment

How to Qualify

Submit an application AND complete the "Law Enforcement – Frontline National" exam through the National Testing Network (select City of Glendale) by September 8, 2026, no earlier than one year before applying.
