About the role
Schedules patients for facility services based on physician orders, including ancillary, surgical, and medical testing/procedures/admissions.
What you'll do
- Takes telephone requests for authorizations; prepares referral requests; obtains authorizations and collects patient data
- Completes the scheduling process in the computer system, resolves scheduling conflicts, and cancels/revises appointments as needed
- Maintains EHR referral documentation and tracks referral patient compliance
- Confirms correct patient/service and that orders and required authorizations are in place
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Associate's/technical degree in business or equivalent experience preferred
